Hello and welcome!

I'm Lucy. Thanks so much for dropping by.

Perhaps a love of nature has brought you here. If so, we are kindred souls!

I return to the natural world every day, to relax, recharge and feel a little more like myself. Nature brings me peace and purpose through life's ups and downs and is endlessly gorgeous and full of wonder.

The magic of ordinary things

These little flowers live in the meadow at the bottom of our garden. I haven't always owned a meadow. In fact, I've spent most of my life living and working in towns and cities - often with no garden at all!

But one day, over a decade ago, my partner and I left the hustle of the city to take our beautiful five year old daughter on a little adventure! ...

Swapping my heels for wellies!

We bought a ramshackle house in a village in rural Northamptonshire. It had holes in the roof, a gale whistling through gaps around the doors and windows and even a bat living in the attic. But it did have an enormous overgrown garden that extended into an even bigger (and more neglected) field. It was vast, wild and exciting and we set about restoring the house, clearing the land of rubbish and gently loving things back to life.

We planted a small orchard and many other beautiful trees, (including an oak, grown from an acorn found on a woodland walk) and rewilded the field, creating wide open stretches for grasses and wildflowers. It was hard but meaningful and it began to reward and inspire us in delightful and unexpected ways ...

Glimmers of joy and wonder

Allowing the land to relax and express itself created a lush new wilderness and we soon enjoyed the company of deer, foxes, sparrowhawks, owls and all manner of other precious wildlife from the surrounding countryside.

I enjoyed slowing down, noticing the seasons, learning the call of birds and standing beneath the moon & stars.

I noticed tiny little moments of wonder in my day and realised how content I was with the little things in life. Each tiny bit magical moment in nature was an invitation to tune-in and be more present to the simple riches of life all around me.

Tiny Bit Magical is born!

Being and artist, I felt newly inspired by the spirit and energy of the countryside around me. I began painting every day and decided to leave my career in Higher Education to stay home, raise our daughter and pursue my passion for creativity full-time. This brought its own set of challenges, but I kept going, driven by something deeper.

I made small, joyful art to reflect the stream of tiny magical moments in my day. I wanted to evoke the deliciousness of the present moment with fresh, radiant colours and uniquely rich and beautiful compositions.

I launched my first collection of paintings entitled 'Wild Magic', inspired by the country walks surrounding my home, followed by 'Summer Meadows', 'Spring Joy' and 'Ocean Whispers', evoking the magic of our newly-rewilded meadow and my families love of the Cornish Coastline in South West England.

I am now delighted to offer a small selection of prints too. I've partnered with a wonderful printing company who create beautiful, high-quality reproductions of my most favourite pieces and I've launched 'Tiny Bit Magical' - this brand new little online store!

It's such an honour to celebrate the spirit and wild beauty of the natural world and bring joy and inspiration to my lovely customers! I'm so grateful for your continued support.
Thank you! - It means the world to me!

Love Lucy
